The innocent bystander to the happenings of Eve.

From the To Kill A Mockingbird portion of my life I found a snippet of film in which one of the cast "extras," a blond-headed boy with a lunch bag in his right hand, stands there completely oblivious to the film being shot around him.

The others are playing their part--boy holding girl back in midst of boy group encircling to root the fight on--boys eating apples, yelling and participating. And here is this boy in the background standing there with his fake lunch making his dollar an hour thinking about something far away. He doesn't care about the crisis at hand or about the consequences it might involve. He doens't even want to be in showbiz.

Along with the Girl With a Pail, this tiny piece of film history is a gem, and I never would have noticed if I hadn't been forced to take the film apart piece by piece. Lesson learned? If it looks like nothings there...go closer.
